Our Vision, Mission and Values in action
St Joseph’s school was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and we endeavour to continue the mission of Catholic education through the lens of their charism, based on the example of Christ.
God sent his son, Jesus to live as a human and to show us the way of God’s Kingdom. All Christian values can be summed up in Jesus’ instruction:
“Love one another as I have loved you” Jn 13:34
Through living out our chosen values, the St Joseph’s community aims to answer the question of “How did Jesus live?” Learning how to be human and to improve humanity is our Catholic calling.
The St Joseph’s School community has claimed its core values; the St Joseph’s way of:
LEARNING, LOVE, COMMUNITY AND RESPECT
as defined by the life example given to us by Jesus Christ.
The ‘St Joseph’s Way’ provides us with a shared language around how we choose to be together. With the Mercy way, it forms the basis of our school culture. We live this every day and acknowledge and celebrate it each week at our assemblies with the ‘St Joseph’s Way’ awards.
